This Is How They Find Her
This is how we stay
This Is How They Find Her is a dark fantasy woven through dreams, memory, place, and the silence passed down through generations. Four women, each attuned to a different way of knowing, begin to receive messages in sleep, in waking, and in the moments between. At first the signs feel like selection. Ancient. Intimate. Personal.
But slowly they learn:
They are not being chosen.
They are being warned.
As the messages deepen, the women begin to find one another. Across distance, across dream, and finally in the waking world. A pattern reveals itself: one that has fed for generations on women taught to confuse devotion with disappearance, sensitivity with sacrifice, and surrender with transcendence.
These dreams do not seduce them into darkness.
They reveal its shape.
They show how hunger disguises itself as holiness, how silence masquerades as peace, and how love has been weaponized into obedience. What once felt sacred: spiritual calling, ancestral guidance, protection, is exposed as extraction, anchored not only in bodies and bloodlines but in place itself.
This is not a story of descent.
It is a story of interruption.
Of women who listen without obeying.
Who remember without drowning.
Who name without vanishing.
Who guard without hardening.
Who anchor without being buried.
Here, light does not arrive as rescue or purity⦠it arrives as choice: the radical decision to remain whole.
At its heart, This Is How They Find Her is about reclaiming agency from forces that thrive in secrecy.
About bringing what was meant to stay hidden into the waking world, and breaking the spell by acknowledging it, grounding it, and refusing to disappear for it.
The dreams end not because the women belong to them, but because they no longer do.
This Is How They Find Her insists that awareness is power, tenderness can be armour, and love shared and spoken is our greatest defence and that the most subversive act a woman can take is to stay.
And in the end, we do.
